or rugs (woven). The main purpose of the weaving loom is to keep the
individual threads of the fabric stretched.
Charcoal iron
The
Charcoal iron was invented in the 15th century. The need for a
smooth look of clothes requires its invention.
Buchka
Buchka is a wooden vessel that has been used on Bulgaria for
centuries to produce home-made yoghurt - butter, flour, and skimmed
cottage cheese.The lobe consists of two parts - a wooden vessel (top) and a wooden plunger.

May 11 - Day of the Holy Equality Apostles and Enlighteners Cyril and Methodius
On May 11 the Bulgarian people honored the holy apostles and
enlighters Cyril and Methodius. This day was established during the
Renaissance as an important day of the Bulgarian festive system - a day
of honor to the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius - creators and
distributors of the first Slavic alphabet - the Glagolitic.
St. George's Day

Trifon Zarezan, the day of the vine and the wine
On
February 1 (February 14 in old style), Bulgarians celebrate Trifon
Zarezan - one of the oldest customs in the Bulgarian folk calendar.
This is a labor custom associated with the first year of the vines
processing - the spring incision.
Babinden
Babinden (The Day of the baba or the Day of the midwife) is a
traditional Bulgarian feast, celebrated on 8 January (21 January
according to the Gregorian calendar), in honour of the women
practicing midwifery.

18 July 1837 - the birth of the Apostle of Freedom
On July 18, 1837, one of the most courageous heroes of Bulgaria was born, leaving a bright trail in the memory of Vassil Levski. He is a genius theorist and revolutionary, strategist and organizer of the Bulgarian national liberation movement in the 60s and 70s of the 19th century.

St. Trifon's Day (Day of the grower)
St. Trifon's Day (Day of the grower) is a Bulgarian national holiday in honor of St. Tryphon. Celebrate it winegrowers, falconers, gardeners and tavern-keepers on February 1 or February 14 (old style).
St. Basil the Great (Survaki)
On 1 January the Bulgarian people noted Circumcision of Jesus and honor the memory of St. Basil the Great. The holiday Circumcision of Jesus recalls the circumcision of baby Jesus on the eighth day after his birth.
Ignazhden (The feast day of Saint Ignatius of Antioch)
On 20 December the Bulgarian people Ignazhden notes - the day of St. Ignatius of Antioch, one of the best students of St. John the Apostle Evangelist, so named because bore God in his heart.
Saint Nicholas' Day
Saint Nicholas' Day, observed on December 6 in Western Christian countries, December 5 in the Netherlands and December 19 in Eastern Christian countries, is the feast day of Saint Nicholas. In Orthodox Christianity St. Nicholas, whose name means "Victorious" is revered as a master of fishermen.
Saint Dimitar's day (Dimitrovden)
On October 26 Bulgarians celebrate St. Demetrius. This honors St. Martyr Demetrios Mirotochets - one of the most revered saints of the Bulgarian people.
Saint John of Rila (St. Ivan Rilski) - the patron saint of the Bulgarians
Today, October 19, Bulgarian Orthodox Church honors Saint John of Rila (St. Ivan Rilski). He is honored as the patron saint of the Bulgarians and as one of the most important saints in the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
St. Petka's Day (Petkovden)
On October 14 the Orthodox Church celebrates Saint Paraskeva or also called Petka. They call this day still Winter Petkovden and Bulgarian beliefs marks the transition to winter.
September 22 - Day of Bulgarian independence
On 22 September Bulgaria celebrates one of the most significant events in recent history. On this date in 1908 the Bulgarian state, one of the oldest in Europe, declared its independence.
Saint Sophia the Martyr
Saint Sophia the Martyr is venerated in the Eastern Orthodox Church on September 17. Born in Italy, Sophia had three daughters: Faith, Hope and Charity, who were named after virtues mentioned by Saint Paul in 1 Corinthians 13. September 17th is the Day of the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia.
Elevation of the Holy Cross
On September 14 the Orthodox Christian church is the Bulgarian nation celebrates one of its most important and solemn feasts - Elevation of the Holy Cross.
Dormition of the Theotokos
On August 15, Orthodox Christians and Catholics celebrate the church feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos - one of the 12 major Christian holidays.
Transfiguration - the brightest holiday
On 6 August Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, which dates back to the first centuries of Christianity.
Seven Saints
On this day - July 27, Bulgarian Orthodox Church honors St. Cyril and Methodius, and their most famous students - holy Clement, Naum, Gorazd, Sava and Angelarius - Seven Saints.
St. Elijah Day (Ilinden)
On July 20 commemoration of St. Elijah the prophet - one of the greatest among the Old Testament righteous, powerful reprover of paganism and herald the true faith in the One God.
Midsummer
According to Bulgarian folk tradition on 24 June (more precisely on the night of 23 against 24 and June), Midsummer is celebrated. This is an old pagan holiday in honor of the summer solstice.
Feast of the Ascension (Spasovden)
On this day the Orthodox Church celebrates Ascension (Spasovden). The holiday is celebrated always on Thursday, forty days after Easter.
June 2 - Day of Botev and died for freedom and independence of Bulgaria
The date is the death of the Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev (June 2, 1876).
